Nathan Acupan’s journey into the world of music began in the third grade, when he was channelled into a music program to curb his youthful antics. Initially resisting, Nathan discovered his true passion when he was introduced to percussion. His exceptional talent quickly caught the attention of his teachers, leading to an enriching educational experience that incorporated drum set techniques.
From playing the drums at his local church to performing timpani with the youth orchestra and marching band, music became the fabric of Nathan's life. He furthered his passion for percussion at the Hall Musco Conservatory at Chapman University in Orange County, where he honed his classical skills, minored in music business, and developed a keen interest in music technology. Graduating Cum Laude, Nathan was recognized with the Chapman Celebrates Talent Scholarship and received the prestigious Chapman Percussion Ensemble Award in both 2020 and 2024.
Currently, Nathan is pursuing his master’s degree in Contemporary Performance in Drum Set at Berklee College of Music in Valencia, Spain. As a versatile composer, he seamlessly blends his drumming with various genres, including jazz, rock, gospel, and pop.
Nathan has had the honor of performing at renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York and has toured internationally across England, Scotland, and Japan, bringing his unique sound to audiences around the globe.
